Chongqing ranks 4th of China’s most potential cities

“Four main factors will decide whether a city has potential for future development,” said Xie Haisheng, responsible person from research team on cities competitiveness of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). “Chongqing’s external environment, industrial conditions, productive factors, infrastructure and governmental executive ability are better than other cities.” It was reported that China has published annual ranking lists of cities competitiveness since 2005, of which Chongqing ranked 38th in 2005, 43rd in 2006, 38th in 2007, 33rd in 2008 and 42nd in 2009. The annual ranking list of cities competitiveness mainly examines six factors, namely growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP), per capita GDP, cost for development, per capita disposable income and etc.
